Creating Shared value in Educational Sector
To fulfill fundamental educational goal, many developing countries are deprived in financial resource. Therefore, poverty stands as a complex reality for
many individuals. The concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV) stimulates the
innovative understanding towards the new challenge of poverty. This creates economic
values in a way that simultaneously creates value for society. In this connection, Mexico is one of
the countries that affected by unequal educational opportunities. In the
educational system, Mexico experience difficulty to increase investment both in
government and private sector.
This study contributes to the development of Creating Shared Value (CSV) theory. In
so doing, this work will investigate by two firms in Mexican Educational Sectors through social impact organizations.
Three objective were proposed as; (1)
economic impact of the firm, (2) social impact of the firm, (3) educational
development and firm strategy.
This helps to answer the main research question: “How can Creating Shared Value contribute
to the Educational Sector in a developing country through social impact
organizations ?” The motivation of this work was achieved by the mean of multiple holistic case study strategy with no participant organizations (e.g.
FINAE and EDUCAFIN ). Semi-structured expert interviews were carried out to
collect data. The thesis examines different practices and strategies performed
by two organizations and proves the benefits of using Creating Shared Value
(CSV). Eventually, it gives an idea that Creating Shared Value is strongly
applicable within the educational field in Mexico. Furthermore, the results
highlight a remarkable contrast between two organizations due to innovative
business strategies and extensive adaptability to the market. Overall, both
firm welcome win-win relationship between each one of them and the society. In
so doing, both party enjoy numerous advantages, such as; increased revenues in
the case of the organizations, and education development in the case of the
Mexican community.
